Autumn Moods

I have mentioned several times that Half Dome is my absolute favorite landmark in Yosemite National Park. I have captured photos of Half Dome from various locations, including Glacier Point, the Valley Floor, the North Dome, bridges, and meadows at sunrise and sunset in the summer and winter. I have completed the Half Dome hike five times.

There are four different spots on Glacier Point where you can take a great photo of Half Dome: Washburn Point, which offers a side profile of Half Dome; Glacier Point Curve Vista (where I took this photo); the Glacier Point Amphitheater area (sometimes referred to as the newer observation area); and the original Glacier Point out at the very tip of Glacier Point. Although the latter two spots offer spectacular views of Half Dome perched above the entire Valley, I have taken many photos from the “Curve” over the years because I like the intimacy of Half Dome framed between trees along the road.
